About the Author of the Site

Hi — I’m Éloïse Durand, founder and editor of Bishopsworth Swimming Club. I’m a lifelong swimmer, coach, and passionate advocate for community-driven aquatics. I created this blog to share practical training advice, coaching insights, competition coverage, and the everyday stories that make our local swimming scene special.

I started in the pool as a junior swimmer and later transitioned into coaching and program development. Over the past decade I’ve worked with youth squads, masters swimmers, and competitive athletes, helping them improve stroke technique, build conditioning, and prepare mentally for races. My approach blends evidence-based training with an emphasis on enjoyment, inclusion, and long-term athlete development.

Professionally, I hold coaching certifications in swim technique and safety, and I continuously update my knowledge through workshops, sports science reading, and collaboration with other coaches. On this blog I translate that experience into clear, practical tips for swimmers and coaches at every level — from stroke drills and dryland workouts to race tactics and season planning.

As a community advocate, I’m committed to making swimming accessible and welcoming. I regularly feature member stories, program spotlights, and event previews that showcase our local clubs, volunteers, and families. My goal is to celebrate progress as much as podiums, and to give every reader concrete steps to improve their fitness, confidence, and technique in the water.

On Bishopsworth Swimming Club you’ll find training plans, coaching advice, competition results, event schedules, and interviews with swimmers and coaches. I aim to create content that is practical, motivational, and grounded in real-world club experience — whether you’re a parent looking for the right program, a masters swimmer chasing a new PB, or a coach seeking fresh ideas.

I love hearing from readers: questions about technique, requests for specific workouts, or stories you’d like to share. Feel free to reach out through the site’s contact page or connect with us at upcoming events — I’m always excited to meet fellow swimmers and help the community grow.
